Malibu Bathroom Remodeling

Malibu bathrooms are shaped by the coast: salt air, strong daylight and floor plans that open toward the water. California Bath & Design plans layouts that protect the view, then specifies finishes and ventilation that hold up in an oceanfront environment.

Where we work

Serving Malibu, California

Our studio is at 8383 Wilshire Blvd Suite 800, Beverly Hills, CA 90211. We travel to Malibu for consultations, measurements and site visits throughout the project.

Where it is

Los Angeles County coastline

Homes we see here

Beachfront and bluff houses, canyon properties and contemporary rebuilds, most with rooms oriented toward the water.

Getting to you

Coastal visits are planned around PCH traffic and grouped with other westside appointments.

Local highlights

What shapes a bathroom project in Malibu

Salt-air durability

Coastal humidity and salt affect hardware plating, mirror backing and cabinetry substrates. We favour living and brushed finishes and specify marine-tolerant materials where exposure is highest.

Ventilation sized to the room

Ocean-side bathrooms need real exhaust capacity. Duct length and routing are checked so the fan actually clears moisture rather than just meeting code on paper.

Designing around the view

Fixture placement follows sightlines. Glass, tub position and vanity height are set so the water stays visible from the places you actually stand.

Local considerations

Planning in Malibu

  • Salt air affects hardware finishes, mirror backing and ventilation sizing.
  • Strong coastal daylight shifts how stone and tile read, so samples are reviewed on site.
  • PCH access and canyon roads are factored into delivery and debris scheduling.

Questions

Malibu bathroom remodeling questions

Which finishes last longest in Malibu?
Brushed and living finishes tolerate salt air far better than bright polish, and porcelain reduces the sealing routine compared with soft natural stone.
Does coastal permitting affect the schedule?
Interior-only remodels are usually straightforward, but anything touching exterior walls, glazing or additions can involve extra review. We flag that during scope planning.
